IFA strengthens collaboration protocol with Lease-Fly operator to train cabin crewmembers, launching a Cabin Crew course with paid internship.
On June the 11th, IFA – Aviation Training Center signed a new cooperation agreement with LeaseFly, a service “Wetlease” operator focusing on ATR 42 and 72, which aims at the initial and recurrent training of its cabin crews, guaranteeing a paid internship for the minimum period of 3 months for students who successfully complete the various stages of training.
The IFA training center is based at Cascais aerodrome and has been active in aeronautical training since 1997, is one of the oldest aviation schools, having already trained about 1200 cabin crew members and is the one having more type qualifications, trained more than 700 pilots in aircrafts such as Boeing 737, B757, B767, B777; Airbus A319 / 20/21; ATR 42/72 and Hawker 750/850/950.
The next Cabin Crew course with paid internship is scheduled for June 25, the year’s season with high demand from airlines where Lease Fly is no exception, as stated by Sandra Damas, Cabin Crew Manager of Lease Fly “A partnership that was missing and allows us to better manage the planning of our crews. The IFA has a high level of experience and quality in its initial courses, as evidenced by recent hires with some crew members trained at this center”.
We spoke with Iris Aleixo and Sebastião Marques, two of the most recent crew members, who tell us a bit about their personal experience: “It was a thunder flash between my dream and today’s reality, I could not be happier,” says Iris. “There’s that period where you want it so much but either we do not realy believe on it or we simply just do not move ourselfs. After knowing about the course, I paid a visit to the IFA, which was fundamental because of the enthusiasm and motivation they gave me. I took the course and I have been flying for 5 months with Lease Fly in France. Although a little scared at first when I started, I am now perfectly capable of performing the functions. After all I got it, I fulfilled my dream and I’m super happy.”
Sebastião is in the first month of his internship and tells us his version: “I’m still a little bit dazzled by all this, it was something I always wanted and I never stopped believing. The IFA played a key role in my life. I’m literally … in the clouds! ”
The training will be held at the Municipal Aerodrome of Cascais and in Sintra. The selected students will then carry out the “Conversion and Differences” course in Lease-Fly, as well as the official start.
Sandra Damas concludes the interview “At the end of this Cabin Crew course with paid internship, we will recruit about 10 to 15 crew members to meet our most urgent needs, we look forward to the finalist students an of course, the all finish with success the several training stages!.
